Eric Fournier, mayor of Chamonix, is calling out to the public to support the Mont Blanc Express train line as Réseau Ferré de France, owner of French rail network, wants to pull out of investment in upcoming project.
Last week Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) said they do not want to invest in the upcoming works to improve the Mont Blanc Express railway line.
Being one of the larger project partners, it is said that if the RFF pulls out of the project it is likely that the combined investment of 55 million will be lost.
With only 5 months to go before the start of the project, this announcement by the RFF comes a s a real shock. As such Eric Fournier is due to travel to Paris today to meet with the chairman of the RFF to defend the project.
If you want to show you support towards the valleys little red and white train, Eric has also created a Facebook page which you can join.
